Water Trucks Rural Water Supply
RURAL WATER SUPPLY HELPS ALLEVIATE THE IMPACT OF SEVERE DROUGHT IN SOMALIA
The vast majority of areas do not have borehole wells or any other deep and reliable water sources. And as a result, they rely on water trucking and water collected in traditional rain water catchment facilities (Berkado). They dry up quickly due to the drought. The supply of water trucked to these rural areas are essential in the survival of these communities. Those water trucks collect water from boreholes in the other areas.
The transportation of water to these rural areas cost money. Somali Development Organisation helps communities pay for the transportation cost of the collected water. The transportation cost of each water trucked cost around $200 at a time. These communities cannot afford to pay for the cost, and without your help Somali Development Organisation will not be able to reach and supply water to these remote rural communities.
Please Donate. Your generosity is what helps us reach out to these communities who are in a dire situation through out the droughts.
